Are you a patient of San Francisco Voice & Swallowing, tell us your story!
I came to see dr Yung because my voice was changing, it was difficult and painful to speak- i spent a career talking as a trial lawyer. On the first consult after tests she diagnosed the problem and offered me a solution. The solution ,over a period of months, working with her, her speech therapist, and finally a minor surgery , was complete success: my voice is back to what it was as a young man. I have had many experiences with doctors and healers, and my experience with Dr Yung is one of the best, if not the best, She is friendly, direct , talks in ways you can understand without mumbo jumbo , and shows a real interest in you and your health. I was never rushed, or ignored. She is a brilliant doctor and a caring person. Her staff is great If you have a voice or vocal cord issue, go see her . She is the best
I went to see Dr. Yung for my VFS. Dr. Yung was such a skillful, patient and kind surgeon who was very supportive of my journey all the way through---from the consultation to the recovery, I had a lot of questions and concerns, but Dr. Yung answered them so timely and patiently. And the assistants, and the vocal therapy team, especially Wynde who worked with me were very professional and helpful. My VFS went well and my voice sounds so good now. Life changing. Highly recommend!
I am very Grateful to Dr. Yung and Kristen who have treated me for voice difficulties this year. Dr. Yung is a caring and professional Physician who I would recommend without hesitation. Kristen Bond provided me with excellent voice coaching that was understandable and led to improvement. The staff at this practice is helpful and easy to work with. I am very happy to recommend them to anyone in need of voice treatment.
Dr. Yung and Kristen (and their staff) are some of the most caring medical professionals I have ever encountered. Dr. Yung’s surgical skill in a VERY sensitive part of the human body (vocal cords) was abundantly clear. Through surgery and therapy (thank you, Kristen) they were able to restore my vocal cords to full health! I wish all specialists had this stellar combination of leading expertise and genuine care.
I really enjoy being treated by Dr Yung. She is very understanding and super skilled at her craft. I had some sort of vocal cord anomaly which had to be surgically removed. I also have the privilege of being treated by Kristen Bond, the speech pathologist. She seems very well trained and able to communicate very nicely with the patient. I’m sorry I needed the surgery but I was very fortunate to have been referred to the office of Dr. Yung
I am very, very grateful for finding the office of Dr. Yung and for working with Kristin Bond, her voice therapist. After a long surgical procedure involving an airtube, I experienced several weeks of extreme voice spasms and discomfort. Dr. Yung was familiar with this situation and very professional in helping me figure out some relief. I worked with Kristin in her office for voice and breathing analysis, simple exercises, and almost instantly felt so much better ! They are a great team and I felt lucky to have found them.
Dr.Yung & Dr.Bond has helped me realize my voice. Before meeting them, I didn't know that I didn't know how to speak/use my voice. After 3 months of therapy and monitory, I can proudly say that I now can speak without strain or pain, I now can use my voice at unimaginable volume and command the room as I present presentations at work. This gives me confidence to live my very best life. Grateful, thankful and appreciative for their patience and mastery!
I was losing my voice... I was unable to sing at all. I always sounded hoarse. I went to see an ENT who referred me to Dr. Yung. She ran some tests, recorded me and showed me how strained my throat was and that my vocal chords were not effectively closing. the first step was to have me do speech therapy for 3 months with Wend. The objective of the therapy was to teach me to properly breath when I speak. This was a challenge, but with practice it became intuitive and I saw progress. Then Dr. Yung injected a temporary filler to "fill out my vocal chords" so they functioned properly. This would only last 3 months, then allow us to assess the next step. 4 months later, I couldn't believe the change in my voice! She showed me a comparison from when I first was her. Night & Day. My voice was fuller, less strained and tired. The process can be a bit frustrating because you relearn how to speak more relaxed and comfortably. But the end result is amazing. Dr. Yung and her entire staff did an amazing job. I have my voice back! No hoarseness. I can speak easily and comfortably. I am so happy with the result. Thanks! Dr. Yung!!!
As a trans woman, I have been researching surgery to lift the pitch of my voice for a number of years. My search spanned the globe including Korea, the US, and abroad. I am so glad that my voice therapist recommended Dr. Yung at San Francisco Voice and Swallowing. Not only are they a day trip just down the coast from Seattle but the end results are everything I could have hoped for. Dr. Yung and her team have forever changed my life for the better. I cannot thank them enough.
Dr. Yung is one of the best doctors I have ever worked with. She is super into her craft. I loved talking with her about things. I never felt like I had to hold back. I asked whatever questions came to mind, and she was so knowledgeable. She and her team of voice therapists are magical human beings. There really aren't words to describe how much I love these folks. I participated in voice therapy and had vocal cord surgery, and I am so glad I went there.
